This was the biggest surprise of the new films for me. I had been hoping for the best since I first heard of all the ups and downs this production went through. Gondry and Seth Rogen and Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz bring so much crazy energy to this great action-comedy. THE GREEN HORNET gets action-comedy just right, with a perfect blend of the two. Can't wait to see this one again. Kato-Vision rocks so much. A gleefully destructive action-comedy.

Early Word On Green Hornet Is Very Positive
Now, I can't review GREEN HORNET in any real detail. I'd like to. In fact, if I were to write it up with any real specificity this would be the longest of these reviews. But I feel i must say this. Although this is being released in January, traditionally a dump-month for the studios, I must insist that this isn't a dump kind of film. I have no idea what kind of box office this will make. But this was for me the most pleasant surprise of all the premieres at BNAT. I really, really loved THE GREEN HORNET, and all I can say to you is that I urge you to see it with an open mind and and prepare to have a metric [frick]-ton of fun with it. I'm not bullshitting saying this, not trying to get into anyone's good graces. An honest assessment of THE GREEN HORNET - it's really [frick]ing good.

     Those that have seen the previews cant actually review the movie yet, but word has slipped out that Michel Gondrys Green Hornet has defied expectations and managed to be..pretty damn good!..
那些仅看过预告片的人还不能真正的评论这部电影，我禁不住要说，Michel Gondrys的《青蜂侠》不负众望，真的做的相当不错。
     Early screening of Green Hornet have been happening at various venues in various countries since last week. Those that attended are not permitted to review the film yet, but that hasnt stopped em from revealing whether they enjoyed it or not!
     上周，《青蜂侠》已经在不同的国家进行了早期试映，那些出席首映的人，虽然还不允许评论电影，但是阻止不了他们透露他们是否喜欢这部电影。
     When it was announced that Seth Rogen would be playing Britt Reid(The Green Hornet) many people already wrote it off, assuming that Director Michel Gondry must be spoofing it up. Then some pretty cool shots revealed a slimmed down, quite serious looking Rogen. That was followed by some very good trailers that suggested a slightly comedic approach, but no more so than many action orientated films doing the round these days. Still some felt that the movie would miss the mark. Well, I havent seen it so I cant confirm or deny that, but some net folks have revealed to me that they have never been more pleasantly surprised by a movie. Here is just one glowing..ummm, "endorsement" of The Green Hornet..

   Although we didnt see it in 3D, we did see a mostly finished print of "The Green Hornet," and my main reaction to the film is one of pleased relief. It is a big fat pleasure, a knowing tweak of the superhero genre that coasts along on the very-real chemistry between Seth Rogen and Jay Chou through a less-focused first half before finally clicking into focus with a wild and entertaining second half. The film plays it straight at times, and at other times its pure unhinged comedy, and the combination works. Michel Gondry turns out to be an inspired choice for the material, and even his genre-standard montages have a loony energy thats all his. The action is fun, Christoph Waltz chews some scenery as the bad guy, and by the end, I was eager for a next adventure with the Green Hornet and Kato. Ill have a full review of the film as we get closer to release, but suffice it to say it will be an enthusiastic one.

Seth Rogen was perfect for the role of a rich douche who is a totally chicken and is scared out of mind and constantly begging Cato to save him. Funniest movie I have seen in ages. It isn’t like he learns his lesson an turns all serious and heroic, he remains a total jerk throughout.”

     I just caught the advance screening at the AMC on 34th St in Manhattan a few hours ago. I loved it! Katos fight scenes were bad ass. Every scene had the audience rolling. Not too many remakes work. This one did for me. And surprisingly...this movie was pretty violent for a (potential) PG-13 movie.

     刚刚看了试映，爱死了！加藤的动作戏屌爆了。每个场景都能让观众投入。翻拍很难成功，但是对我来说青蜂侠做到了。让人意外的是，对于一部pg13的电影来说，这部比较暴力。

     I just saw this as well and agree with your analysis. It was a fun and enjoyable movie. The little touches that Gondry added were great, and it was different enough from some of the other comic-like movies to make it stand out. I was a big fan.

      Well, I must say, that was a very fun treat to have James Franco pop up as a crime lord. The interaction between him and Christoph were one of several high points in the film. Of course, if you all remember James Caan and his brief appearance in Dick Tracy, you can guess where the situations going to go.
   
      As for the movie itself - sneak screening in Houston tonight - I thought it was a pretty fun experience (itll probably look much better in 2D than 3D). Its nowhere near the accomplishment the Nolan Batman movies and the (first two) Raimi Spider-Man movies are and Rogen as Britt Reid still inst the best casting choice, but in the context of the film, he grows on you. Christoph and Jay were, unsurprisingly, the best in show while Cameron was a very uninspired choice for the female lead. The films style (Kato-vision) is very well stylized and the action is very well-done (the use of practical effects makes it all the more enjoyable). As for the old Van Williams style of Green Hornet, it probably would have been just as enjoyable, but for what it was worth, this Green Hornet was a fun ride I dont regret taking
